I'm baaaack! (87 message center items! x.x) Actually, I was back Sunday, but I've been too exhausted to really do much at DA... Lazy me. So here's my novel about my 4 day extravaganza! Oh yes, and pictures of Dear Friends and our Reno and Aeris cosplay are in my scraps, so go check them out!
On Thursday, me, my mom, and Oby my boyfriend all went down to San diego. We ran around Old Town first before heading to our two bedroom suite. After an issue regarding the air conditioner, we all get ready for the Dear Friends concert. I wore a blue evening gown, and Oby wore his suit. When we got down to the concert, we didn't have much time, so we grabbed some food, two Dear Friends T-shirts, and ran over to our absolutely awesome seats (row 11, seats 6, 7, and 8) while spying some Yuna and Edea cosplayers. There were some people dressed up as Batman and the like, because most of the people there had walked over from Comic-con. ^_^ It was fun listening to the symphony tune their instruments, because every so often I got to hear little bits n pieces of OWA. The view was lovely, because we were super close to the stage, and on the left was the ocean, and on the right was a harbor and downtown San Diego all lit up. Eventually, the conducter and MC come out and they play a little message from Nobuo Uematsu. (He's so cool *_*) The concert began with Liberi Fatali, and it rocked! ^_^ Unfortunately the screens started failing about Midway through the first half of the concert. >.< One of them was fine though, and right before the intermission they played the video with Squall and Rinoa, and as the fireworks came in the video, they started firing real fireworks to the left over the water. It was so beautiful!!! The intermission came, and I talked to this old French/Russian/Italian/Spanish dude who was an opera singer, and then we ran back to our seats. They played Aeris' theme, and it was so beautiful! ;_; It was sad too, though. When they started playing the Final Fantasy 1-3 songs, a really noisy chopper flew overhead, and everybody whined. So Arnie Roth, the conductor, strted it over for us!

Everybody cheered about that! We eventually got to the new Advent Children son, which was called "Cloud Smiles." It was kind calm and happy, and I though about Cloud actually being happy and smiling in AC and that gave me warm happy feelings. n_n I feel so bad for Cloud. ;_; They got to the "last" song, which is the one they play after you beat a Final Fantasy game. I kept thinking "Yay I won!" XD Then, Arnie Roth, walked off stage and everyone gave him a standing ovation. The choir walked in, we cheered more, and Arnie Roth said "It's like you guys already know what's coming!" Of course everyone did. ^_^ And then they started One Winged Angel. It was simply awesome. I looked around, and almost everyone was grinning ear to ear, including me. As it finished, there was another standing ovation as the conductor walked off stage, but then he turned around and asked if we'd like to hear it again. Well, that was obvious by all the screaming. ^^ The second time it seemed even more powerful, and after it was all said and done, I literally squeed. Yes, I screamed "Squeeeee!"

It seemed fitting. XD I didn't want to leave, but we had to get to bed for the next day's events.
The next morning, we all got up and Oby and I crawled into our cosplay outfits, and my mom did our hair. Suddenly, we were now Aeris and Reno. ^_^ After breakfast, we caught a cab down to Comic-con, and as soon as we walked in, this little boy ran up to Oby screaming "Reno!" and gave him a hug, while some little girls (one dressed like Tifa) started taking my picture. In fact, I think we got our picture taken at least 60 times that day.

Once we got our tickets, we hit the exhibit hall. Eventually, we came to the Squeenix booth. They were playing three trailers: Dragon Quest 8, Kingdom Hearts (it was the original game, not the sequel which made no sense since it's been out for years), and Advent Children. When DQ8 was playing, about three people would watch. when KH played, ten people would watch. And everytime AC played, at least 30 people would be crowded together trying to see. XD I watched the AC trailer seven times, and it was simply kickass! I had never seen it before (it was the E3 one) because my connection was so slow, and on the widescreen they had it on, it just was totally awesome! I loved it. I also picked up a pamphlet on the new figures (most are only $20) but it was horribly translated. In fact, all the signs Squeenix had up had mistakes in them.

I bought an Advent Children cell phone strap before hitting the rest of the convention. At the Disney section, there was a playable version of KH2, but there was a crowd, so I just watched Sora and Auron for a little while before moving on. I bought some more stuff, including a little Cloud figure, and got loads of free crap. I also ran into the producer of Dear Friends and More Friends. He was pretty nice, and said he hoped to do another tour. I spotted another Aeris and Reno and got their pictures, and later we ran into Tifa and Cid walking together. ^_^ We tried to find out about the masquerade, and though we couldn't participate, we convinced my mom to letting us stay another two nights so we could go. We also ran into someone who was planning to be Rude at the masquerade, but he never showed. By then my feet were killing me, so we headed back to the room. The next day, we all got up late, and when I was trying to change into my Aeris costume, I got locked into me and my mom's room. X.X So Oby had to take the doorknob off of the door so I could get out.

We put it back on, of course. Then we headed to Comic-con again, got more stuff, more pictures, and I got a plushie for getting my picture taken. ^^ At seven we went to the Gaslamp area for dinner (it was crappy and overpriced) and the three of us headed back for the masquerade. There were some funny skits, like an agry cuttlefish, Shirley Temple being chased by a fish, Street Fighter character's killing Goku, a really fat and old Wonderwoman, and a cute dance with Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha. During the intermission, Oby and I went to the dance floor and started dancing. Then some little man walked up and asked to dance with me, and as soon as he started, he tried to do a trick and fell down and hurt his leg really bad. O.O Then I saw Don Corneo, which was funny. The rest of the night we danced, up until 1:30 AM, and some photographer took our picture..... for a gay magazine. >.< Well, I guess that's not too bad, but it was kind of weird. As we wlked out, some people started screaming "Aeris! Where's Cloud?!" at me. XP I tld them he died. At about 2:30 Am, my mom, Oby, and I finally managed to get an available taxi and we went back to the room. By the time were done showering and getting the color out of our hair, it was 4 AM. x.x The next day, we visited the Midway aircraft carrier museum (I've been on one that's in service though XP) and we headed home. Well, a fun time was had all!
Run over to scraps and look at pictures!
