CHECK SCRAPS FOR PHOTOS OF SDCC AND COSPLAY

I'm back!!!  I hit San Diego Comic Con all four days plus preview night with my boyfriend ~OBYWANKENOBY.     It was so hot though. >.< Just like AX, I'll go day by day.

Wednesday-  Oby and I cosplayed as Mido and Misa from Death Note, but he later took off his glasses so he cosplayed as Light. xD  When we got to the convention, we had a news interview, and then we deaded in for some shopping!!! I saw Alexis and Cathy (I think? I never was told her name) from Tokyopop, whom I had met before at AX.  They recognized me and got all excited. ^o^  I bought a shirt from the Tokyopop booth that says "I AM THE MANGA REVOLUTION." It's so cool. xD

Thursday- We cosplayed as Chi and Hideki from Chobits, and we got a lot of pictures.  I asked about the Death Note stand, and the guy said I could get it for free if I came Sunday!!  I got  a bunch of portfolio reviews, which were pretty successful and earned me contact info, an upcoming project for 2007, and an application for submissions for a how to draw manga book.   We went shopping some more before heading to Old Town for the wonderful Mexican food they have.

Friday-  We cosplayed as Clara(handmade by moi) and Nathan from my RSOM submission, and someone even recognized us! We got lots of pictures taken of us, even though most people had no idea who we were.  When we stopped at the Tokyopop booth, Alexis and Cathy got all excited. xD It amde my day.  I saw ~Lorthide and ~Tentopet in the sails pavilion (somehow at the same time lol) and headed off to get pictures of the FF All Gathering.  After nabbing some photos, I headed off to a Tokyopop creator panel in search of the legendary Rob Valois who emailed me about being an RSOM finalist.  He apparently sat in the audience and someone sat in front of his name card, so we couldn't figure out who it was.   After words I met George Alexoupolous (I know I spelled that wrong ) and saw some people from the Pseudome forums.  ~Tentopet heard I had been looking for Rob Valois, so were all toted off to meet him! ^o^  He was exactly how I imagined him to be.  It was pretty funny though, because at the Tokyopop booth they had a raffle where you had to get 6 cards from girls cosplaying in outfits specially designed after TP's manga in the booth.  People kept thinking I was one of the girls from the manga and asking for cards because My outfit was so well done I guess.   Pretty good for a first time at sewing.

Saturday-  This time we cosplayed as L and Misa from Death Note. Oby's jeans were so baggy that he had to hunch over to keep them up, so he was walking around in character. We were going to be in the masquerade, but I started feeling sick and shaky so we cancelled.   At 2 we headed for the DeviMeet, but the only other person to show was ~Lorthide.  Why does no one come to these things?!   I got some gift art from her and gave her some, and then we headed off to look for the San Diego All Cosplay Meet.  We walked 3 times around outside the Sails Pavilion, but found no such thing.  We did run across something called the "Fullfillment Room." ...   Then I started chasing L and smacking him with my Death Note.   ~Lorthide left us so we went for dinner to some crappy Irish restaurant. We came back in time for the Yoshitaka Amano panel, and he was EM-AZE-ING!!!! I was fangirling all over the place.   I tried to get an autograph, but they only let a few people get them and told everyone else we had to come Sunday to the Dark Horse booth to get one.  We then headed for the Masquerade, which mymom had got us 2 tickets for when they were sold out thanks to some woman who didn't want them. ^o^  However, there were three of us, so she ran up to the VIP line and asked for a VIP ticket from someone in line, and he gave her his extra. O______O So she went in and got us 2nd row seats, and Oby and I had to stand in a huge line that wrapped around an entire wing of the convention center. After about an hour, we finally made it inside the hall. The masquerade was really fun to watch. My favorites were Davy Jones, PotC in a nutshell, RikuxSora, Super Smash Brothers, Trouble at Hogwarts, and Dynasty Warriors.  Apparently the guy who voiced Rufus was somewhere in the crowd, but I missed him. ;_; We were going to go the dance afterwards, but Oby started getting mad, so we went to back to the hotel instead.  Unfortunately, the hotel lost power so I had to shower with no hot water and there was no AC in the middle of the crazy heat wave. T_T

Sunday-  We cosplayed as Aeris and Sephiroth in outfits that were completely made by us. They turned out really well, but due to the power outtage the hotel was running on small generators that only gave partial electricity, so we couldn't get the curling iron to heat up.  My mom somehow curled my hair anyways, and we headed to the con after being stopped by two groups of fans who saw us at the hotel.   We literally couldn't move 2 feet before someone else wanted a picture, so we posed a million times in the Exhibit Hall.  I think our picture was taken at least a thousand times, if not more, and I'm not exaggerating.  We were interviewed 3 or 4 times, including once by a Japanese TV show! ^o^ I'm going to Japan, at least on TV, baby!!!    Because of all the pictures, we weren't able to do much.  I tried to get Death Note volume 7, but they were sold out. T3T Then we got in line for Yoshitaka Amano's autograph but were barely actually in line because we got pulled out so many times to pose.  Each person could get 2 autographs
(he gave each person a quick sketch too!)  My mom got 2 sketches of  women by him, which will be going to ~Amani-Ishikawa and !PrinceofDarkHearts because they had said they wanted one.   My boyfriend got two as well, one was a sketch of Sephiroth ^o^ which he gave to me, and the other he gave to his friend CJ.  I got my FF7 Soundtrack booklet signed, as well as my Aeris cosplay jacket.  He was surprised I wanted him to sign me.   So I am now the only Aeris signed by Amano!!! He was really nice~~~! After that we picked up the Death Note stand and attempted to walk around but wound up just posing the rest of the time for pictures.  We somehow escaped and headed home just in time to give my dad his birthday cake. ^o^  And a fun time was had by all.

CHECK SCRAPS FOR PHOTOS AND STORIES FROM AX

I had such a great time!!  Sunday I cosplayed as Aeris and headed to the FF photoshoot.  It was so much fun, meeting the other cosplayers.  I met a nice Vincent and Aeris, and there were a few sexy Clouds.   There was even a Rufus.   It was just very hot, so I left after about an hour and a half.  It was a nice set up though, complete with a Fenrir bike and One Winged Angel.

I went to the Artist Alley and nabbed prints from `Wen-M, ~Pallid, and ~mitsuu, along with some others.  I got mostly Death Note stuff, but I also got an FF7 print.  Later I went to a Copic Marker Tutorial. Big waste of time, since I knew everything.  I thought it might be helpful for when I teach my classes this summer, but not really.  Later I hit the exhibit hall for a few hours and picked up four Death Note doujinshi (one of which I had to toss because it was VERY EXPLICIT yaoi ;_; ), a Death Note cosplay book, and a Cloud keychain.
I had dinner at Quizno's but came back in time to hear a Yozuca* concert.  I actually walked in on accident just as they started and decided to listen.

Monday I dressed as Misa and went to the Pseudome forum breakfast meet at IHOP.  Everyone was so nice~!   And exactly as I imagined them to be, too.  My dad and I got back to the con and I went tot he Artist Alley again, and then to the Tokyopop creator panel, where they said all RSOM finalists were professional enough to have their own series ( at which point the inner me squeed itself to death, considering ).  I made it out in time to go to the Tokyopop Portfolio review in the Artists Alley.  

I went early to the review, but AX being as disorganized as it was, I had never noticed the sign up sheet before.  The security/staff guy (most AX security/staff I saw were dressed as Turks, complete with badges and pins.  He was cosplaying Rude) told me to come back in half an hour to get in the Walk In line.  So I did.  But another girl had apparently gotten in in front of me, even though I was techincally there first.  She got in the first fifteen minutes.  I wound up waiting for TWO AND A HALF HOURS. I was the last person to get in, and the only thing that made the wait bearable was talking to the others who wanted to get their portfolios reviewed (like ~jennekohan who has some really cute/funny zombie stuff.  Hi!! ) including someone who recognized my Phoenix entry RSOM entry and had voted for it!  I also met a really nice L cosplayer.

Once the wait was finally up, I told the reviewer I got that I was a finalist with Phoenix in RSOM 6.  All three reviewers (including the ones reviewing someone else) got really excited and happy to see me, so my nervousness went away.  I met one of the judges who had apparently tried fighting tooth and nail to get my entry in to the book ( I found out later when they talked to me outside that he also is the translator of Death Note ).  They were very nice and gave me a good critique (and kept interrupting other people getting reviews to compliment me), asked for my contacts, and gave me one of their email addresses so I could contact for questions quicker.  This one also tried to buy one of my prints in my portfolio!! I just gave it to her instead though, since she was so nice.  They said hi to me later on too outside~~~!  I love TP so much~~~!

After that, I went to the Deviant Meet.  It was me and *Folkeye .  That was it.    She and I sat and talked for an hour, and she drew me an awesome picture of Rufus with a floweron his head and gave me an old Reno pic. XD It was nice meeting you in person!   Some creepy dude came up and started asking me questions, but eventually he left.  After that, I ran around the cosplay areas and snapped pictures for a while.  At about 6:30 I jumped on the train and got home in an hour.

I'll be going to Anime Expo for the first time on Sunday and Monday!   I was planning to go on Saturday with my mom, but I wanted to go two days, so I convinced my dad to take me for two days provided I pay him $100 for some expenses. I'll be cosplaying as Aeris on Sunday and Misa on Monday, so say hi if you see me!   I'll also try to make thee FF All gathering Sunday and DeviMeet Monday, as well as the Pseudome Forum meet Monday morning or Sunday night.  I think Deviants are supposed to wear green on the badge to identify each other.

Since I'm on the subject of cons, I'll also be at Comic Con San Diego later in July.  My cosplay list right now with Oby (it will change if I don't get in the masquerade) is:

....APRIL FOOL'S!!!  I lost.  But I'll win next year!  I want to thank everyone for their support and votes and comments! It really means alot to me, and I'll make sure that next year I'll do even better!

I just heard about Era Clash, the new FF7 prequel. First thing I thought was "AC BC CC DC EC..... Square likes the alphabet!" and then I thought "Damn it's for the phone AGAIN!"  But I guess you play as a SOLDIER 14 years before FF7 and it's episode style like BC.

Now we just have to wait for FC to ZC.

My spring break was this week and all I did was make up homework, tests, and SATs. Every day, all day. T3T But I did get KH2! It's even better than the original in my opinion. Except for the FF7 voice actors, who make my ears bleed. T_T  But Sora is so cute in Halloween Town! XD And Seifer is so ridiculous. XD;;;

I've been out of school for two weeks now because I keep having these retarded heart problem. =_=  My cardiologist is going to try to change my medication a little bit, but if that doesn't work I'm going to have ANOTHER heart surgery soon because having my heart palpitating all the time could leave to heart failure eventually. (although I currently have no signs of heart failure, so don't worry)  If the surgery doesn't work (which it hasn't the previous three times) I'm going to be put on special medications which have really bad side effects, and to go on/off of them, you have to be hospitalized for 3 days. Fun.  I'm hopeful that the first medicine change will work though, since I think I've just become tolerant to my current medicine (or my previous surgery messed me up more, which happened before too.)

But I also got some really good news recently too, so that's good.

This week has been crazy for me!  Lots of heart problems, so my cardiologist is changing my medicine schedule.  Hopefully it will work...

And I need to figure out how to correctly submit prints in the right format.  The last one I submitted was rejected for being a jpg.... >.<;;; But I will fix it soon I hope.  

Dirge of Cerberus sounds like it's really great.  At first I had my doubts, but it sounds like the story is really great.  I can't believe Gackt's in it though. O.o

I actually finished my Rising Stars of Manga entry!  I sent it in and it got there on Friday, the day it was due. ^^  It's really rushed, because I kept getting sick and school took up alot of my time, and I was only able to start it the day after Christmas, since I was really sick during Thanksgiving and part of Christmas break.  Even during the last half of Christmas break, I had driving school everyday, but I got it done!  Whether or not I win (which I probably won't since there are so many other talented artists entering), I'm glad I did it.  It was a good experience, but I'm starting next year's entry in the summer!  Once winners are announced, I'll post it up here for you guys to read.

Sorry for not replying to comments, faves, or watches much lately, I've been really busy with school and RSOM.  I'm currently trying to reply to everyone!

Exams are coming up soon too.... >.<  I'm NOT looking forward to AP Bio exam.  That is going to suck....... _-_

I had such a great time for Christmas!  On Christmas Eve my mom dressed up as Santa for me and Oby. XD It was so funny!  I felt pretty bad, since I had pinkeye and a nasty virus (but I'm getting better now!), but it was fun.  On Christmas morning I came in to a nice pile. I got a PSP(loveloveloveLOVE!), a sewing machine and some lolita patterns (since I want to make cosplay outfits, but I wasn't expecting this so it was great), a lightbox(finally!), Painter IX from my sweet boyfriend Oby, a Death Note artbook, some video games, FMP:The Second Raid (my poor mom bought a ripped version and overpayed on ebay), and some other stuff.  I was so happy!!!  However, I had put the English dub of Advent Children on my list back when it was scheduled to come out in November, so my mom tried buying it off ebay.  But since it doesn't exist yet and we found out too late, she wound up getting a ripped version with messed up subs.  I feel bad that happened to her.

I really got spoiled this year though. XD Can't say I mind that.

This week I have Drivers Ed from 8-4 every day. T_T  And I'm simultaneously trying to completley create my Tokyopop contest entry this week.  It will be a miracle if I can pull it off.

It's Christmas break, the time for all things fun and joyful but... I'm sick. T_T  I was planning to do my RSOM entry this week, but now I feel too bad to do it, and next week I have driving courses the whole day every day.
I got it from my boyfriend, probably when we went to my school's Christmas formal.  That was alot of fun. ^^
I did read the 'Maiden' short FF7 novel though... So good!  ;_; I was sad about Aeris again though. So I watched Advent Children another two times and now want to get KH2 and Dirge of Cerberus so bad I can't stand it. >.<;;;;
Oh, and special thanks to my dad for getting me a subscription and prints account as an early Christmas present!

I hope everyone's Christmas goes well! Maybe if you wish hard enough, Santa will put a bishounen in your stocking. ^^
