Anyways, I had heart surgery on Monday because I have a condition called Super Ventricular Tachycardia (SVT), which you can think of as a fast/irregular heartbeat that comes on suddenly and can lead to passing out and (rarely) death, along with a slew of other side effects. I had had a very similar surgery twice before(the first time they said I was cured but I wasn't, and the second time I was told I couldn't be cured), and it was my eighth surgery total.
I had to get up at 4 AM to go down to the hospital and check in at 6:30. NOT FUN! I tried to sleep on the way down there, but I was so scared that I couldn't. I got to see the sunrise, but I could've appreciated it more if I hadn't been so worried. Once we got to the hospital and went in, my boyfriend, Oby, did his best to keep me calm, but I couldn't shake how scared I was. My pre-op nurse was really nice to me though, and she put little happy faces on my feet. After all the tests were done, they walked me in to the Cath lab. My dad and Oby left, but my mom stayed with me while they put me under. I chose strawberry flavored gas, not the IV. The anasthesiologist put the mask on me and told me to hold my breath, but I was distracted and didn't pay attention to him though.
When I woke up, I had a headache, was shaky, in pain, and generally felt like crap. Not only did the incision in my neck and the four in my legs hurt, but my elbows and ankles were extremely sore because of the weird position they put me in for the surgery. My post-op nurse, Amy, was very sweet and and cleaned my face up a bit and tried to cheer me up, but then her shift got out and I got another nurse. My cardiologist came in and told me that he didn't know if I was cured or not.
The next morning, I had a killer headache, nausea, pain, and general feeling like crap. My mom took off my pressure bandages and my holter monitor, and we all drove home. I thought I was about to puke during the entire drive, and when I finally made it home I painfully shuffled to my bed with my mom and Oby's help and took a very needed nap. When I woke up, I managed to shuffle to the living room with some help, and for the rest of the evening I sat/lay on the loveseat.
Two days after my surgery, I still had a headache, but I was feeling a little better. I managed to painstakingly take a shower (with my mom's help), and mostly sat on the loveseat but occasionally I went to bed to rest. Late that night, however, the areas where I had had bandages developed hives and itched like crazy.
On Thursday morning, I was feeling much better. I could walk almost normally, but I had a funny looking limp. I still was having an allergic reaction to the tape, and towards the evening I started to feel bad again.
Today, I was feeling better, but I had a heart problem so I took a nap. Later, I went and saw Bewitched (cute!
If you managed to read all that, then I am very proud of you!
But I do have something happy to say!! The Turks are in the Last Order OVA that comes with FF7:AC Special Edition!
And I'm open for requests, but I'm very slow at drawing right now and still have to finish one for someone.

I hope the rest of the recovery isn't as painful as it was and goes along smoothly! Man, that really had to suck...I can also understand the nervousness about surgery...well I really didn't get surgery but I had a really bad accident and had to get stitches so...I can understand the nervousness
You also are very lucky to have such a caring family and boyfriend!
AH! Yay the Turks!
Oh you saw Bewitched too? That is such an adorable movie!
Well hope everything goes well and the rest of your recovery goes well! I'll keep praying!
And my family and boyfriend are very caring. I'm so grateful for them!
Have you seen the screens of the Turks that they released? Reno's either cut off or hard to see, but there is a nice shot of Tseng. I'm crossing my fingers on Rufie..
Will Ferrel acted like such a dork. ^_^ It was funny!
